Summer Intern Program

Clinical Pilot Grant Program

The General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) is announcing a new grant program, CReFF (Clinical Research Feasibility Funds) Program, to support clinical research pilot grants. Applicants must be of junior faculty rank—equal to or less than Assistant Professor—in either The University of Kansas Medical Center, School of Allied Health (SAH), School of Medicine (SoM), or School of Nursing (SoN). Either full-time or part-time junior faculty members are eligible.

Awards are up to $20,000/year. The clinical research proposal must utilize the GCRC. The deadline for application is June 30, 2007. The funding period begins
August 1, 2007 and all funds must be spent by March 31, 2008. If awarded a GCRC Clinical Research Pilot Grant, the Principal Investigator (P.I.) will have access to GCRC services including:

1) Biostatistics, informatics, and data analysis
2) Ancillary Laboratory Support
3) Nutrition Core
4) Exercise Physiology Core

In general, these services will be provided at no cost for awarded grants. However, the extent to which the GCRC can provide these services will be determined for each study.
